One of a Kind

Hulk Hogan may have let the cat out of the bag on the Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show on Thursday morning.  During the show, Hogan talks about TNA making the move to Monday nights and having a nice mix of veterans and new faces on the show.  Hogan also mentions that he just found out about a new signing and said it is going to “be really crazy,” while motioning to Jimmy Hart the trademark RVD gesture.

Hogan did not mention Rob Van Dam by name during the show, and as it is a radio show the motions would not have been seen by many outside of those in the studio.  Luckily for the fans, a video camera was taping the interview and has already been posted on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm5n4JdZjLo.

Of course, Hogan has been known to embellish or stretch the truth on almost anything that comes out of his mouth, but all signs are pointing to the return of Mr. Monday Night.  And what better night is there for RVD to show up than on March 8th, the first Impact when it makes its permanent move to Monday nights.

I, for one, am a huge fan of Van Dam’s and welcome him into TNA with open arms.  When we last saw RVD in WWE, he was finally making his way to the top with a run with the WWE and ECW Championships.  A drug related arrest, however, caused him to drop quickly out of the main event picture after losing both of his championships on consecutive nights.  RVD was then left to squander around in the midcard before finally leaving due to his wife’s health problems.

I can still remember, though, hearing his familiar theme entrance during the 15th Anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw where he returned to the ring for one night only.  Seeing him in the ring after a six month absence literally gave me goose bumps.  I can’t imagine what I will feel after a two year absence, even if Hulk Hogan did spoil the surprise.

Monday nights have just gotten a whole lot better.
