TNA Epics Recap – Kurt Angle

Mick Foley is the host for the show which focuses on what Foley calls “the best professional wrestler to ever step foot inside the ring,” Kurt Angle.  We will take a trip down memory lane by seeing three matches from his TNA career.

Match 1: Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe (Genesis 2006)
Kurt Angle mentions in an interview segment before the match that him and Joe had many battles but this was by far his favorite match.  This match was also the Angle’s TNA PPV debut.  The match is replayed in which Angle won the bloody battle that had the crowd in a frenzy.  Angle making Joe tap out ended the undefeated streak that Joe held for 18 months in TNA.

Match 2: Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles (Last Man Standing – Hard Justice 2008)
Both of the wrestlers give their thoughts on the match.  AJ Styles says he didn’t underestimate Angle as he knows how good he is, while Angle says he tore it up and says Styles will be in the top three wrestlers of all time once his career is over.  This match was the sole highlight of the horrible Hard Justice pay-per-view and ended up being one of the best matches of the year. AJ Styles won the bout after hitting a sick DDT off the top rope and not being able to answer the 10 count.

Lauren is backstage at the Impact Zone with Kurt Angle who says he had to make a lot of adjustments once coming to TNA since they are better athletes and are more talented.  Angle goes on to say that he is proud of his accomplishments and it is now all about going out and putting on the best show for the TNA fans.

Match 3: Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett (No Disqualification – Genesis 2009)
There was no pre-match interview for this match as we headed right into the No-DQ match from Genesis pay-per-view that took place at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Angle won the match after quickly rolling up a bloodied Jarrett for the three count.

Foley is back and says that it is easy to see Kurt Angle is one of the best pro wrestlers of all time.  He also says that Angle makes those around him even better as well before closing out this special Epic look at Kurt Angle.
