Lance Hoyt Gets Extreme

Lance Hoyt Gets Extreme

Lance HoytAfter being released from TNA in February, Lance Hoyt signed with the WWE a couple of months later and finally made his television debut on ECW this past Tuesday night.

I have stated before that I always thought Hoyt would be one of the young stars that was elevated up the card.  To me, he was molded in the same vein as the late Andrew Martin, an agile big man who has the look, but his career always stalled with gimmicks such as carrying Guitar Hero controllers to the ring as part of the Rock n’ Rave Infection.

In ECW, Hoyt showed off a new haircut and a new name, calling himself Vance Archer.  It’s not the best name, but it isn’t nearly as bad as Braden Walker.  His debut match in which he decimated a local wrestler also came across much better than Walker’s (who wrestled in TNA as Chris Harris) debut match where he appeared out of shape and rusty.

I wish Hoyt/Archer the best of luck in WWE.  You have already surpassed the train wreck that was Braden Walker.  Hopefully you can surpass the brief career that Marcus Cor Von (Monty Brown) had in ECW.
