Nigel McGuinness to TNA
It was reported this afternoon on ProWrestling.net that former ROH World Champion, Nigel McGuinness, signed with TNA and is in Orlando for the Impact television tapings.
It was reported just a short while ago that McGuinness, along with Bryan Danielson, had decided to leave ROH and sign with WWE. It appears, though, that WWE took too long in getting a contract out to McGuinness, thus he opted to sign with TNA instead.
WWE’s loss is TNA’s gain, though, as McGuinness is one of the top young talents out there that remained unsigned by either promotion. McGuinness had a ROH Championship reign that lasted over a year and a half. Even with that impressive resume, instant name recognition may not come for him as he will go by the name of Desmond Wolfe in TNA.
Whether his name is McGuinness or Wolfe, though, McGuinness had some great battles with the likes of Samoa Joe and I know I would love to see some of those battles recreated within the six-sided ring in TNA.
This truely is a huge signing for TNA and fans can only hope that McGuinness… er, Wolfe, can have a great run and great matches while with TNA.
