Final Destination for Main Event Mafia? (3/12 Impact Recap)

A video recap of the problems between Sting, Kurt Angle, and the Main Event Mafia opens this week’s show.  We then see Kurt Angle walking in the backstage area as we hear Mike Tenay ask how he will respond after being tossed out of the Impact Zone last week.  The Impact intro hits and Mike Tenay, who is by himself, welcomes us to this week’s show that will feature an Elimination Match between Matt Morgan & Beer Money against Team 3D & Abyss.

Kurt Angle’s music hits as he comes down to the ring with a microphone in his hand.  Angle calls out Jeff Jarrett as his suspension is over.  Angle says that world is his and he will take out Jarrett tonight and will take out Sting on Sunday.  Jarrett’s music hits as he comes down to the ring with a guitar in his hand.  Mick Foley and BG James come down to stop him from entering the ring and plead with him to not meet Angle in the ring.

Foley grabs a microphone and asks Angle if he has lost his mind.  Foley says he put money into TNA because he believed in guys like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle.  However, Angle’s ego and selfishness has gotten in the way and the rest of the MEM are just like him, with the exception of Sting.  As for tonight, Foley asks Angle to instead fight him and give Foley the opportunity to Cactus Jack his ass.  Angle then backs off and leaves the ring.

Jeremy Borash is in the owner’s office with Jim Cornette and Sting.  Cornette tells Sting that the fighting between him and Angle have been dominating the show while the rest of the wrestlers are sitting in the back doing nothing.  Cornette tells Sting to pick one guy to back and Angle will do the same and they will get to be in the corner of whoever they pick.  Sting says he is in and walks away.

Lauren is backstage with Mick Foley and Jenna Morasca and asks why she is in the Impact Zone.  Morasca says that she and Foley met a few months ago and Foley invited her.  She says that her favorite wrestler is Kevin Nash and that she invested her Survivor million into millions more.   Foley then cuts in and says that the two have to talk business as they both leave.

Matt Morgan then walks in and asks if Lauren has seen Abyss because he wants to hear if he is going to take him up on the 10,000 tacks challenge.  Lauren answers for Abyss and says that Abyss has come a long way with Dr. Stevie and doesn’t need to mutilate his body to make a living.  Morgan then starts getting frisky with Lauren to send Abyss a message.

Match 1: Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Rhino
As the match starts, Don West finally makes it to the announce table and asks when they moved the start time of the show.  The match moves on and Bashir is able to get a two count after landing a boot into Rhino’s face.  Rhino, however, is able to fight his way back into the match and takes him down with a couple of clotheslines and a belly-to-belly suplex.  Rhino then rolls up Bashir for the victory.

After the match Bashir lands a low blow to Rhino before leaving the ring to grab a chair.  Bashir nails Rhino in the face with the chair and then places his turban over Rhino’s face before kneeling before him.

Jeremy Borash is with the Beautiful People and Madison Rayne.  Velvet Sky says that what is before him is the Mi Pi Sexy sorority.  Angelina Love says that Rayne will get her initiation tonight into the sorority.

After a commercial break, Jeremy Borash is in the MEM locker room and Steiner tells Angle to work things out with Sting and both Steiner and Nash are unable to wrestle for him tonight.  Angle then sends out the MEM security to find someone for him.

A video package highlighting the feud between AJ Styles and Booker T is aired.  In the owner’s office, Jim Cornette is holding on to the Legends Championship and says Booker will get it back if he signs off on not calling the police on AJ Styles again.  Cornette then makes Booker sign a contract for a match against AJ Styles at Destination X.  Booker is reluctant to sign it but does after Cornette goads him into it.

Eric Young is backstage with Sting and asks for a chance to represent him tonight.  Sting says he likes Young but doesn’t want him to go out in the ring with Angle and his frame of mind.  EY says Sting wouldn’t be putting him in the position as he is putting himself in the position.  EY continues and talks about Sting’s break into the business and Sting finally agrees and allows Young to fight for him.

A video package highlighting Samoa Joe is aired.  Joe talks about being the future of wrestling, however, things began to change.  Was it politics, veterans, or was it Joe himself?  In three days a beast will be reborn and nothing will ever be the same.

Lauren is backstage with Lethal Consequences in the locker room who says the youth of TNA has been used as a doormat.  As for their mystery partners for tonight’s match, they choose (Tito) Santana and (Pedro) Morales.  The LAX walk into the locker room and Hernandez says the talking is done and the LAX will reinvent themselves tonight.

Kurt Angle is with Kiyoshi and is trying to get him to wrestle for him tonight.  Kiyoshi bows to everything that Angle says and he calls him worthless and kicks him in the midsection.

Match 2: Matt Morgan & Beer Money vs. Team 3D & Abyss (Elimination Match)
The match starts and Team 3D works over Robert Roode until he is able to tag in James Storm.  The match breaks down with both members of Beer Money and Team 3D in the ring and distracts the referee, which allows Jacqueline to enter the ring and land a low blow on Devon.  Storm then delivers a superkick to Devon and picks up the pin fall for the first elimination.

Beer Money then works Ray over and Storm spits beer into Rays face in front of Slick Johnson.  Storm is disqualified for that action and Johnson sends him to the back.  Ray then quickly delivers a Bubba Bomb to Roode and picks up the pin fall to eliminate the other member of Beer Money.  Matt Morgan then comes in and chokeslams Ray and picks up the pin fall to eliminate the other member of Team 3D.

It is down to the former partners as they come to blows in the ring.  Morgan is able to take Abyss down with a chokeslam and grabs the bag of tacks but Abyss fires back with a chokeslam of his own.  Abyss grabs the bag of tacks as Lauren comes running down and tells him to focus as Morgan comes back with the Carbon Footprint and picks up the pin fall to win the match.

Morgan spreads the tacks on the mat as Lauren checks on Abyss.  Morgan appears to set up to chokeslam Lauren on the tacks as Abyss comes in for the save and Abyss motions that he wants Morgan in the 10,000 tacks match.  At the announce table, Don West and Mike Tenay bicker over Lauren’s actions until West leaves the announce table and says he is going to the hotel bar.  Backstage, Abyss goes off and says he is going to get Morgan this Sunday and will put more holes into Morgan than A-Rod’s story has.

Match 3: Madison Rayne vs. Taylor Wilde
Mick Foley joins Mike Tenay at the announce table to replace Don West.  Traci Brooks is the referee for the match as Wilde goes on the early offensive in the match.  Rayne comes back with a clothesline but gets into it with Brooks.  Brooks pushes her as Wilde rolls her up and picks up the three count.

The Beautiful People then come into the ring and beat down Wilde as Cute Kip keeps Roxxi and the Governor at bay.  The two then trip up Kip and crotch him in the ring post and go in to help their friend until Kip stops their assistance by spraying perfume in their eyes.  The Beautiful People once again get the upper hand as they stand above their fallen opponents.

Jeremy Borash is with ODB who shows people how to get around the bases with her.  She then mounts Borash after he offers her a cigarette.

Booker T, Kevin Nash and Sharmell come down to the ring and Booker gets in Mick Foley’s face.  Security comes out to break up the war of words and Steiner comes in from behind and nails Foley with a lead pipe.  Foley is shown with blood coming from the back of his head as BG James checks up on him and calls out for medical help.  Foley refuses to go to the hospital to get stitches as he has somewhere to be.

The TNA Rough Cut segment airs and reveals that Lethal Consequences, the Motorcity Machine Guns and Suicide will be fighting for the X Division Championship.  Everyone aside from Suicide gives their thoughts on the match and call Suicide the wildcard.

Match 4: Lethal Consequences & the LAX vs. Scott Steiner/Booker T/Motorcity Machine Guns
The LAX and Lethal Consequences use quick tags to work over Alex Shelley in the opening moments of the match.  Chris Sabin distracts Consequences Creed and allows Shelley to gain control of the match and he tags in Booker T.  Both Booker T and Scott Steiner work over Creed before turning him over to the MMG’s.

Creed is able to escape the Guns tandem offense and tags in Jay Lethal, who takes down both Shelley and Sabin.  The match then breaks down as both sides fight outside the ring as Hernandez gives Sabin the Border Toss in the ring to win the match for his team.

Jeremy Borash and BG James are in the owner’s office with Mick Foley and he says he is seeing bad things coming from this.  Foley says he needs to be ringside and will make a difference.

Kurt Angle is backstage and is trying to get Brutus Magnus to fight for him.  Magnus tells him to find another bloke and leaves.  Angle then tells one of his security guards to go to the ring.

Match 5: Rocco vs. Eric Young
Prior to the match starting, Mick Foley is seen making his way to the ringside area.  The match starts and Eric Young fires some punches at Rocco, but Rocco’s massive size is too much for EY and he is quickly taken down to the mat.  Rocco tosses and powers EY around the ring before heading to the top rope but missing with a splash.  EY then puts Rocco on his shoulders and drives him down with a Death Valley Driver and picks up the pin fall.

As Young and Sting celebrate the victory, Angle comes in and nails EY from behind.  Sting and Angle then get into a brawl as the MEM security gets involved and assists Angle.  Mick Foley comes into the ring and goes after Angle but Scott Steiner comes in and begins to beat down Foley.  Jeff Jarrett comes in and begins leveling people with chair shots, however, Sting protects Steiner and Nash from Jarrett.

Jarrett gets on the microphone and announces that he will be the special guest referee and Foley as the special guest enforcer as Impact comes to a close.
