Amidst all of his wrestling accolades, Kurt Angle is adding acting to his resume. In an article written by Angle’s hometown newspaper, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, filming for a crime thriller entitled “End Game” is wrapping up which stars the former TNA World Champion.
The movie is being directed and produced by Bruce Koehler and also stars Jenna Morasca, the winner of “Survivor: The Amazon” television reality show. Koehler and Morasca, as well as many other cast members, have ties to Pennsylvania and the film is being shot on location in and around the Pittsburgh area.
In “End Game,” Kurt Angle plays a serial killer that poses as a detective to cover up and destroy evidence of a murder. Angle is quoted in the article as saying that the bad guy role he plays in the movie is completely different from anything he has ever done in professional wrestling. Angle also stated that he plans to collaborate with Koehler again in future projects, including a horror movie next year.
It will be interesting to see Angle in this type of role and to see how he fares as an actor. The article didn’t state when the production would be wrapping up or when the movie would be released. A quick check of IMDB came up empty and nothing of this movie had been added to Angle’s and Morasca’s profile pages.
My guess is that it will have a straight-to-video release in the upcoming year. Whatever the case may be, “End Game” will be added to my Netflix queue once it becomes available to rent. It won’t garnish the type of hype that “The Wrestler” has gotten recently but it should be one to definitely check out.

Starman, the IMDB listing is up. A distributor hasn’t been picked yet. Anticipated release date March – May. Website will launch around Feb. 20th with trailer. Heads up: Kurt Angle can act!
