As promised, here is part two of my thoughts on the current contract situations in TNA. Last night I wrote about the status of Mick Foley, Gail Kim and Team 3D and their futures with and without TNA. Tonight, I am going to give my thoughts on a couple of contracts that will be expiring soon in Christian Cage and Kevin Nash, and a wrestler who may be on the way into TNA in Nathan Jones.
Christian Cage
The first huge name to jump ship from WWE to TNA would have to be Christian Cage. Upon his arrival to the company, he was immediately put into the main event and World title picture and captured it shortly after his longtime tag team partner, Edge, won his first world championship in WWE. Cage would go on to win the NWA World Heavyweight title a second time, however, both of his reigns would only last a few months and ended without him actually losing the matches via a pin fall or submission.
Since his second reign came to an end in May of 2007, Cage has been pushed out of the World title scene and has slowly gone down in the ranks. More recently, Cage is has been wrestling as a tag team wrestler along with his long time friend, Rhino. Rumors have been going around that although he likes the work schedule in TNA, he has been unhappy at his current role in the company and may be looking into heading back to the WWE when his contract is up later this year.
Losing Cage would be a huge blow to TNA as he is not only an entertaining wrestler, but he is one of the best in TNA when it comes to working on the microphone. It is said that he left the WWE on good terms and even worked some dates after his contract expired with the company. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him head over to the WWE once again as he could be an instant addition to one of their thinning rosters. If the WWE were to take him back, a higher spot on the card along with more money could possibly make the decision an easy one for Cage to make.
Nathan Jones
I am not confirming that Nathan Jones is heading to TNA, it is just something that I recently came across. As for Jones, I will admit that I didn’t enjoy his run in the WWE a few years ago and wasn’t exactly thrilled to hear that he may be on his way to TNA. Makes no mistake about it, Jones is a huge, towering figure, but the money spent on Jones could be put to better use elsewhere. For example, giving raises to the deserving Knockouts would be a place to start. Aside from a potential big man feud against Matt Morgan, and possibly against Abyss, Jones would more than likely become just another face in a roster that is already be overcrowded.
Kevin Nash
Kevin Nash has been with TNA since the end of 2004 and even with TNA’s lighter schedule, nobody has had it more easy than he has. Even so, Nash seems intent on returning to the WWE when his TNA contract expires in October. On the surface, it sounds highly unlikely, but seeing as he is good friends with Triple H and Shawn Michaels, Nash returning to the WWE wouldn’t be entirely out of the question either.
Nash has put on a couple of decent matches over the past few months in TNA, but their relaxed schedule gives him a fair amount of time to rest between matches. Nash has hinted at a possibility of returning to the WWE as a bodyguard for Shawn Michaels, which could be something right up his alley if that is the case. I doubt a full time in-ring return is something that Nash would want to do at this point in his career.
With that said, it would seem that TNA would still be the best fit for him due to their work and travel schedule. However, his services, even as limited as they may be, could bring a welcome and refreshing change to the WWE. Nash’s best in-ring years are well behind him but both the WWE and TNA can benefit from having him around as a mentor in the locker room or as an on-screen talent.

i hope tna and wwe come in some kind of confrataion so wwe can stomp a hole tna wrestlers
