Suicide is Painless

For those of you who were paying close attention, you may have caught TNA’s subliminal advertising message on this past Thursday’s episode of Impact.  In case you did miss it, a web site URL flashed on the screen during the knockout match between Taylor Wilde and Christy Hemme.  The URL shown was whoissuicide.com.

Going to that site will bring up a black page that has “Who is Suicide?” written in white text.  By clicking on the text, it will bring you to a MySpace profile page for a wrestler named Suicide from Zacatecas, Mexico.  That name not ringing any bells?  Well, it shouldn’t as Suicide is a product tie-in for TNA’s new wrestling video game that is due out next month.

According to a preview at IGN.com, the story mode in the new TNA game will feature the masked wrestler as the character you start out as.  The story goes that Suicide climbed the ranks of TNA and won the World title before the LAX brutally beat him down and left him for dead in Mexico.  After awakening with little memory, the character is able to be changed into anything you want it to be thanks to the miracles of plastic surgery and the Create-A-Wrestler function.

To help promote the game, it appears that TNA will be bringing Suicide from the virtual world to the real world and the wrestler rumored to play the part will be none other than Kaz.  Coincidentally, Suicide and Kaz share the same Zodiac sign, so one could assume that it is indeed him.  Plus, this will give Kaz something to do since he quit the company a few weeks ago.

As for the promotional tie-in, I am all for it… as long as they don’t go too overboard with everything.  Have Suicide come out, maybe wrestle a few matches and get the point across as to what he is and why he is there.  Promote the video game and then move on.  I don’t want to see Suicide competing in title matches or joining the Prince Justice Brotherhood or anything else like that.  Let’s just keep it simple.

Hopefully after that Kaz can find that plastic surgeon and come back to his normal self once again.
