Hard Justice (8/10 PPV Recap)

Hard Justice (8/10 PPV Recap)

Hard Justice opens in a parody of Law & Order that tells us that there are violent criminal offenders in TNA and there are those who seek hard justice.  These are their stories.  Bong! Bong!

A video package highlighting tonight’s matches is aired as we head out to the parking lot where Lauren catches up with Sting and asks why he is at the pay-per-view.  Sting remains silent and won’t tell her any information, but he is carrying his trademark bat.

We then head to the Hard Justice intro where we get to see F.I.L.T.H.E.E. and Grand Mast Caz performing the Hard Justice theme song “AyAyAya.”  Missing from the equation is Ice-T.  They sing all the way down to the ring and get the fans in Trenton, NJ, to chant “TNA!”  The pyro goes off and we are welcomed to the show by Mike Tenay and Don West, who warns us to get ready for violence.

Match 1: Consequences Creed vs. Petey Williams (X Division Title)
A series of counter and reversals start out the match and Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer in the early going but Creed is able to escape.  The fight goes out to the floor for a moment and it appear as if Creed catches the back of his head on the ring apron after flying over the ropes and onto Williams.

The match goes back into the ring as the fans seem to be rallying behind Williams as they have started a “Petey” chant.  Williams works Creed over in the ring and plays to the crowd with his posing until Creed catches him with a superkick.  Creed continues on the attack with a springboard bulldog and nearly picks up the three count.

Another “let’s go Petey” chants starts and Williams responds by turning the match into his favor with a Russian leg sweep.  Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer again but Creed is able to roll out of it.  Creed is able to connect with another kick but misses with a follow up as Williams locks in a sharpshooter in the middle of the ring.  Creed is able to, however, crawl his way over to the ropes to break the hold.

Creed begins to feed off the punishment that Williams dishes out and nails him with the Creed-DT.  Creed then lands a leg drop from the top rope but Williams is able to kick out of the pin attempt.  Rhaka Khan then comes in the ring and Creed lays her out but it gives Williams a chance to catch his breath and tries for another Canadian Destroyer, but Creed is able to once again counter his way out of it.

Suddenly, Sheik Abdul Bashir walks his way down to the ring and picks up a steel chair.  Bashir nails Creed in the back with it as referee Slick Johnson is tied up with Rhaka Khan.  Williams finally is able to deliver the Canadian Destroyer and puts away Creed to retain the X Division Title.

Sheik Abdul Bashir then climbs into the ring with a microphone and makes a camera man get a close up of Creed laid out on the canvas.  Bashir says he is a good representation of this country as he was just destroyed by the Middle Eastern Nightmare.  Williams looks on from the entrance ramp with a confused look on his face.

Jeremy Borash is in the locker room with Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash.  Joe says that he is focused on his match tonight and he isn’t distracted by Sting being in the building.  Nash chimes in and says that he will take care of Sting and promises that he won’t come down to the ring tonight.  As for Booker, Joe says that he will find out tonight that Joe is pro wrestling as he stomps his ass all over New Jersey.

A fairy tale inspired video package highlighting the six-women Knockout match is aired, which brings us to our next match.

Match 2: The Beautiful People & Awesome Kong vs. ODB/Gail Kim/Taylor Wilde
Traci Brooks is the special referee for this match and it starts pretty slow with Velvet Sky trying to spray ODB down with perfume.  ODB grabs the spray from her and sprays herself in the crotch as the Beautiful People are both grossed out.  Kim is tagged in and this match finally gets underway with Kim working over Sky before getting a quick two count.

Sky is able to crawl over to her corner and tags in Angelina Love and Taylor Wilde is also tagged in.  Love begins working over Wilde and finally tags Kong into the match who is focused on Wilde, but Kim is tagged back in.  Kong tosses her around for a moment before ODB is tagged in and she gets more of the same.

Wilde and Kim come back in for a double team, but Kong is able to take them down with a double clothesline.  It takes all three of them to finally knock her down and send her out to the floor.  ODB is tripped up by Raisha Saeed as Kong comes back into the ring as Brooks sends her to the back.

Kong does like the call as ODB spits her drink in Kong’s face.  Kong returns the action by squashing ODB in the corner and tags in Sky, who locks ODB in a submission move.  ODB fights her way out of it and they tag in Love and Kim into the match.  Love is able to knock Kim out to the floor and into the guard railing to gain the advantage.

Love tries to go for every dirty trick in the book and gets under the skin of Brooks, who shoves her down after Love gets in her face.  While this is going on, Kim tags in Wilde and this match begins to break down with all six Knockouts getting in on the action.  While some of the action spills out to the floor, Wilde counters a move by Love will a roll up and picks up the three count.

Lauren is standing by with Team 3D who are looking for Sting up in the rafters.  Brother Ray appears to be afraid of heights as his is clutching tightly to the side.  He calls out to Sting and tells him that they have his back.  Brother Devon seconds that as Ray says he can come down during their street fight if he feels like it and help them out.

A video package highlighting Beer Money’s rise in the tag team division and will be facing the most dominate tag team in the division today.  Mike Tenay runs down the key points of this match, which includes Beer Money putting Homicide through a glass table on Impact.

Match 3: Beer Money, Inc. vs. the LAX (TNA Tag Team Championship)
F.I.L.T.H.E.E. does the LAX a favor and performs their theme song as they come down to the ring.  Homicide is bandaged heavily with band-aids on his back and around his face.  It doesn’t seem to have much effect on him, however, as they jump start the match by attacking Beer Money on the outside.

The match officially starts with Homicide working over Robert Roode in the ring.  The LAX uses some double team moves on Roode as James Storm comes in and has some double team moves done on him as well.  Hernandez nails Storm with a long suplex and Homicide picks up the pieces and picks up a near fall.

The LAX are in total control of this match and Homicide even lets up on his covers so he can dole out more punishment.  Storm, however, is able to turn the tide by spitting beer into Homicide’s face and they are able to lands some double team moves of their own.  The bandages are ripped off of Homicide’s face and it looks pretty healed from my perspective.

Beer Money continue to work over Homicide and pick up a couple of near falls as Hernandez seems to be pacing on the apron.  Roode gives Homicide the three amigos suplexes and imitates Eddie Guerrero before blowing a snot rocket onto Homicide.  Roode then misses with a frog splash and Homicide is able to roll over and tag in his partner.

Hernandez comes in and cleans house and tosses both of his opponents around.  Homicide wants back into the match and Hernandez tags him in and he is able to land a frog splash on Storm, but he is able to kick out at the last moment.  Roode comes in and drives Homicide down with a spinebuster but Hernandez comes in and delivers a fallaway slam to Roode.

Storm follows by taking Hernandez down with a back cracker but Homicide comes in and lands the gringo cutter on Storm as both members of Beer Money roll out to the floor.  The LAX begin talking to each other in the ring and Homicide pushes Hernandez who then picks up Homicide and launches him onto Beer Money.

Jacquelyn gives Hernandez a low blow and she starts to go at it with Salinas as Homicide sets up for the gringo killer on Storm in the ring, however, Roode slides in and nails Homicide with a beer bottle as the referee has his hands full with the women.  Storm then covers Homicide as the referee returns and makes the three count and we have new tag team champions.  Hernandez can’t seem to believe his eyes as Beer Money leaves the ring with the gold.

Kevin Nash is with Sting in the rafters and says that the young kids don’t understand.  Sting reassures him that they do and that there is no other way for him to deal with it as he walks away.

A video package highlighting the love triangle between Jay Lethal, SoCal Val and Sonjay Dutt is aired.  The Black Tie Brawl and Chain Match between these two former friends is up next.

Match 4: Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal (Black Tie Brawl and Chain Match)
Before the match, Dave Penzer announces that a winner can win by either pin fall or by ripping the tuxedo from his opponent.  Slick Johnson straps the chain on their wrists as Lethal’s family looks on from the crowd as we are in his home state of New Jersey.

As Dutt is having his chain attached to his wrist, Lethal hooks his side up to the ropes and takes a few frees shots on Dutt.  Slick Johnson is able to restore some order and gets Lethal to put the chain back on as Dutt crotches him with it.  Dutt begins to tear off Lethal’s tuxedo but Lethal fights backs with a few rights.

Lethal begins tearing at Dutt’s tuxedo and the battle goes out to the floor.  Lethal sends Dutt into the guard railing and the steps before wrapping the chain around Dutt and the ring post.  Lethal goes for the tux once again but Dutt is able to block a right fist and escapes from the ring post.

The match goes back into the ring as SoCal Val looks on with a concerned look on her face.  Lethal is able to gain control once again as he begins choking Dutt with the chain.  Val begins screaming at Lethal and calling him crazy as she turns away and leaves.  The distraction allows Dutt to pull Lethal into the ring post and rips the tuxedo off of him some more.

Lethal is down to a cummerbund and his pants as Dutt begins beating on Lethal in front of his family.  A loud “boring” chant breaks out as Lethal pulls Dutt off of the top rope and begins flinging him into the turnbuckles.  A “fire Russo” chant breaks out as Lethal hits the Lethal Combination and nails a flying elbow drop to pick up the pin fall.

Jeremy Borash is sitting with Booker T and Sharmell and asks what Sting’s purpose is tonight.  Booker says he knows what Sting’s agenda is and that they think alike.  He says that Sting has issues with Samoa Joe and that he does not respect him.  Booker calls Joe a wannabe independent worker and the championship will stay where it belongs, around his waist.

A video package highlighting the feud between Team 3D and Christian Cage & Rhino is aired.  These two will meet in a Jersey Street Fight and that match is up next.

Match 5: Team 3D vs. Christian Cage & Rhino (Jersey Street Fight)
Road blocks, road signs, and other assorted weapons line the entrance ramp for this falls count anywhere street fight.  The fight quickly goes out to the crowd as Brother Ray and Christian Cage fight in one area and Rhino and Brother Devon fight in another area.  Cage and Rhino both use drinks from the fans and pour it over their opponents.  Don West warns us that they have to be careful as they don’t know who is a fan of who.

The two sides meet up with each other near the top of the Sovereign Bank Arena before they start making their way towards the ring once again as the fans begin a “TNA” chant.  Rhino and Devon are fighting in the entrance ramp as Christian grabs a sign from a fan that says “Christian use my sign,” which is hiding a road sign and nails Ray with it.

Cage and Rhino begin working together and using double team moves on Team 3D.  Ray turns it around in a hurry after nailing both Cage and Rhino with a street sign.  Ray then tosses in the steel steps and Devon uses them on Rhino.  Ray then sends Cage head first into the steps and goes to the middle rope but Cage meets him on the ropes and drives him face first into the steel.

Cage begins wielding a detour sign but Ray manages to take Cage down with a Bubba Bomb from the top of the steps onto the canvas.  Ray drapes an arm over for the cover but Cage us able to kick out.  Rhino comes in and Gores Devon, but Ray breaks it up.  Cage follows with a high cross body block on Ray, but he kicks out at two.

Ray returns by slamming Cage hard down to the mat and heads to the middle rope once again but Rhino sends Devon into Ray and sends Devon’s head into Ray’s crotch 10 times before rolling up Devon for the pin but he kicks out at two.

Cage goes up to Ray and looks to go for a hurricanrana but Ray counters and drives him down with a powerbomb.  As Cage rolls out of the ring, Ray begin laying into Rhino with a street sign as Devon sets up a table in the corner of the ring.  Rhino comes back with and takes Team 3D down with a double clothesline as Cage brings in a ladder into the ring. Cage then climbs the ladder and delivers a frog splash on Ray and Rhino follows by giving him a Gore through the table and picks up the three count for the win.

After the match, Johnny Devine comes down to the ring with a kendo stick and starts hitting Rhino and Cage as Team 3D also join in on the beat down.  Abyss’ music hits as he makes his way down to the ring and begins nailing Team 3D with a series of fists as he turns his attention to Devine.  Devine swings the kendo stick at Abyss, but he ducks out of the way and he takes him down with the Black Hole Slam.  Abyss then picks up the kendo stick and looks at it before dropping it down to the canvas and leaving the ring.

Lauren is backstage with AJ Styles who says that he talked to Sting and got everything cleared up with him.  As for Kurt Angle, he says it is personal between them and they want to hurt each other.  Styles says that Angle may be the better wrestler, but he will be the better man.

A video package highlighting the feud between Kurt Angle and AJ Styles is aired.  The Last Man Standing match between these two is up next.

Match 6: Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles (Last Man Standing)
The rules of this match are that a wrestler has to first pin his opponent and the wrestler then has answer a 10-count.  The bell rings and Angle plays a little cat-and-mouse game as he continually leaves the ring as Styles comes near him.  Angle makes Styles chase after him and throws the first punch as Styles comes back into the ring.

The two go back and forth until Styles clotheslines Angle out to the floor.  Styles leaps over the ropes and crashes into Angle but he isn’t able to keep him down for a three count.  The fight goes back into the ring for a moment before Angle is able to toss Styles through the ropes and onto the floor.  Styles tries to leap at Angle, but Angle catches him and overhead suplexes Styles into the railing but it isn’t enough to pick up the needed three count.

The fight makes its way up the entrance ramp and Styles suplexes onto the ramp but only picks up a two count.  Styles begins landing a series of blows on Angle, who is toeing near the edge of the stage, but doesn’t fall backwards.  Instead, Angle grabs Styles and delivers a suplex down to the floor.  Angle follows by diving on top of Styles from the top of the stage, but Styles is able to kick out of the pin attempt.

Angle drags Styles back towards the ring and drives him face first into the announce table before rolling him back into the ring.  Angle tries to wear down Styles with a headlock but Styles is able to break out of it and takes Angle down with a kick to the side of the head.  Styles doesn’t end up on the offensive side for long, however, as Angle takes Styles down with an overhead suplex before locking in another headlock.

Styles is able to get out again and takes Angle down with a series of clotheslines before hitting him with the flying forearm.  Styles puts him in a torture rack before slamming him down to the ground, but he still isn’t able to keep Angle’s shoulders down to the mat for the pin fall.  Styles goes for the Styles Clash but Angle reverses into the ankle lock.  Styles is able to kick out of it and returns with the spinebuster.

Rudy Charles checks on Angle and he begins calling in the trainers and EMT’s into the ring.  They begin bracing Angle’s neck and place him on the gurney as Styles heads back into the ring and hits Angle with a cradle suplex before leaving the ring.  As Styles makes his way up the ramp, the lights go out and Sting drops Styles with the Scorpion Death Drop.  Kevin Nash comes out from the tunnel and begins arguing with Sting as they go to the back.

Mike Tenay and Don West ponder what just happened in front of them with Sting’s unprovoked attack on AJ Styles.  They then recap the match with a series of replays and realize that they have more questions than answers when it comes to Sting’s actions.
