Braden Walker, Sorry About Your Damn Luck

WWE.com posted an article on Thursday stating that they have come to terms on the release of ECW star, Braden Walker, which seemed to be the first of several in a house cleaning attempt.  This is an unfortunate turn for Walker (Chris Harris), but I can’t say that this one surprised me.

Walker wrestled in his ECW debut a few weeks ago in a match against Armando Estrada.  He won the match, but I think the shape he was in and the ring rust he seemed to have overshadowed his true wrestling ability.  Whatever shape he was in, it seemed like he was heading into an interesting storyline with Matt Hardy as the two had a brief exchange in the back.  Walker promised to have his back and called him brother with a little extra emphasis added to it.

Nothing would ever come of that exchange as Walker would participate in his last match this past Tuesday against James Curtis.  Walker looked a lot better this time out and won with a fisherman’s suplex, but the fans still broke out in a boring chant during the match.  An interesting side note, this would also be James Curtis’s last match as he was also released by the WWE on Friday.

It’s hard to say what could possibly be in his future?  Going back to TNA would be an option as he seemed poised to be pushed as a main event wrestler at one point.  Chances of TNA taking him back or even Harris wanting to go back may be slim, however, as he seemed to have left on some bad terms.

You do have to remember that this is professional wrestling where anything can happen, so I wouldn’t rule out a return to TNA.  If he does appear once again in the promotion, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him be decimated by the rest of the roster for the first few months before possibly getting his wrestling career back on track.

At any rate, Harris can turn his time with the WWE into a positive as he was undefeated in his televisied matches with the company.
