Bound for Chicago
My brother and I will be heading out on another TNA road trip in October. Seeing as we already went on a 700 mile round trip to a TNA house show in Spencer, IA, what’s another 500 miles added to that to witness a TNA pay-per-view in Hoffman Estates, IL? Yes, the two of us are going to TNA’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound for Glory IV.
Over the past decade, I have pretty much run the gamut when it comes to televised wrestling shows. I have attended three WCW Thunder tapings, three WWF/WWE Smackdown tapings (two of them included the new ECW), two WCW Nitro tapings, a WWE Raw taping and even a WCW Saturday Night taping. On top of that, I have been to probably a dozen or more house shows featuring the WWF/WWE, TNA, AWA and other independents, but the one thing that I hadn’t ever been to was a live pay-per-view event.
After hearing that Bound for Glory was taking place near Chicago, I decided to ask my brother if he wanted to go as it wasn’t too far of a drive for us. We have family in the Chicago area and have taken plenty of trips there before. As a matter of fact, Hoffman Estates is only about 10 miles away from where our mom grew up. He assured me that he was all in for it, however, once I found a seating chart for the Sears Centre Arena, I had a feeling that he might balk at the ticket prices. I warned him that the prices were extremely high and he basically said that he didn’t want to drive 1200 miles and have crappy seats. At that point, ringside tickets got the green light.
This past Thursday, I received a ticket presale code in an email from TNA and went to the Sears Centre web site to purchase the tickets. With the code, I was able to score a pair of fourth row ringside tickets in a section that faces the camera for the low, low, price of $270. The price is a little steep for a TNA pay-per-view, but with the seats that we got my brother won’t be able to say he drove 1200 miles for nothing.
