Braden Walker Will Knock Your Brains Out
In a week where a few TNA stars made their departure from the company, one former star made his WWE debut. The 7-time NWA Tag Team Champion, “Wildcat” Chris Harris, arrived in ECW as part of Theodore Long’s new talent initiative. While in the GM’s office, Harris told a little knock-knock joke to Armando Estrada to break the ice that ended with him saying that his name is Braden Walker and he will knock his brains out.
Just like Monty Brown before him, Harris is going by a different ring name, one which the WWE can trademark and call their own. You see, the WWE likes to make their own creative names for their contracted talent, unless, of course, they are only there to do the job. In that case, former TNA talent can keep their names, such as Cassidy Riley, Chase Stevens, Andy Douglas and Matt Bentley. As for Harris’ new name, it sounds too generic to me, much like his ring attire and entrance music. At least Marcus Cor Von had a nice ring to it.
Harris even got to wrestle in his first match against Estrada on tonight’s show. Harris won the slow paced contest and Estrada’s brains remained fully in tact. It did look like Harris nearly broke Estrada’s neck with a sloppy cross body block off of the top rope, though, before picking up the pin fall victory. Unfortunately for Harris, the crowd was dead throughout the match and I even heard someone shout “boring!”
I did find it ironic that Mike Adamle wondered out loud if Harris was going to make a big “impact” in ECW. After hearing the pun I soon realized who said it and know that it wasn’t intentional as Adamle usually has no idea what he is talking about in the first place.
On a serious note, I wish Chris Harris… or Braden Walker, the best of luck in the WWE.
