From MMA to TNA

Frank TriggFrank Trigg, the MMA fighter who has provided his thoughts and commentary in recent months in TNA, bears a striking resemblance to Kurt Angle.  So much so thatthat he was even mistaken for Angle this past week on Impact and was attacked from behind by AJ Styles.  I really feel that TNA missed something with this as the announcers, and everyone else for that matter, never acknowledged that it was Trigg on the receiving end of the attack.  TNA, though, may have an opportunity to make things a little better.

Bob Kapur of Slam Wrestling conducted an interview with Trigg about his recent involvement in TNA and Trigg made it clear that he wouldn’t mind stepping into the ring and participating in a match.  According to the interview, they are trying to find out whether or not he can go in the wrestling ring but Trigg hinted that we may see him in the six-sided ring in the upcoming weeks.

I, for one, would welcome a match or two from Trigg.  He has done wonders to the announce team when he has been there to provide his commentary and I would like to see what Trigg could bring to the table within the confines of the ring ropes.  He has the look, the size, the personality, and with his MMA experience, he should have the grappling and wrestling basics down so a transition for him should be light.

A match possibility has already been put into place against AJ Styles, who would be a good choice to pair a non-wrestler up against.  Plus, if Pacman Jones can wrestle and win championships, why can’t Frank Trigg lace up the boots and give it a try?  I guess only time will tell where this story leads us.
