Petey Williams Injured

I’m not a fan of spoilers but it was hard to avoid something like this. As was reported on several web sites recently, Petey Williams suffered an injury at the Impact television tapings this past Tuesday and fractured his orbital bone during a match. According to the report at WrestleView.com, Williams is expected to be out for at least six weeks. This injury couldn’t have happened at a worse time for “Little Petey Pump.”

Williams had finally made a comeback with a prominent role in the company after being sparingly used throughout the first half of 2007. He took the role of an arrogant body builder and ran with it. He began forming an alliance with Scott Steiner and took part in several strange initiations, which even included him shaving his head, before becoming a full fledged member of Steiner’s “freak show.” Williams even picked up the X Division title for the second time in the process

Little Petey PumpDuring last night’s broadcast, Williams debuted a new look, which was almost an exact replica of Scott Steiner, only seven inches shorter and 100 pounds lighter. He was even in the main event and although he was the one who was pinned when it was all said and done, things were looking up for Williams. It’s too bad that this unfortunate accident had to occur.

As I stated before, this couldn’t have happened at a worse time for the young star. I sincerely hope that Williams has a full and speedy recovery and I will be awaiting his return to the ring to see what he does best – entertain the fans.
