A video package opens that says yesterday we were dreamers that were embracing the promises of tomorrow as old TNA footage is aired. Footage of some of the bigger names is aired and says today they have become fearless leaders of a brave new world as some of the younger stars are shown. Yesterday we were, today we have become as we celebrate TNA’s three year anniversary with Slammiversary.
The pyro goes off in the Impact Zone and the announce team welcomes us to Slammiversary as we see footage of what happened during the pre show between Raven and Jeff Jarrett. The two had to be separated by security and Jarrett took out his aggressions on a fan sitting at ringside. Jarrett was handcuffed and arrested, so he will be removed from the King of the Mountain Match. Larry Zybyszko decided that Raven will be taking Jarrett’s spot in the match later on tonight, and on that note, we head in to the first match of the night.
Match 1: Zack Gowan vs. Delirious vs. Jerelle Clark vs. Amazing Red vs. Elix Skipper vs. Shark Boy
Gowan takes off his prosthetic leg as he enters the ring. The match starts and Delirious starts off against Skipper as the announce team talks about the lawsuit Shark Boy is in over the movie Shark Boy and Lava Girl. Skipper slams Delirious down and he tags Amazing Red into the match. Skipper and Red go at it for a moment before Skipper tags Clark into the match. Red is able to dodge Clark’s offense and takes him down with a flurry of moves.
Gowan makes the blind tag on Red but misses with a top rope leg drop on Clark and Shark Boy is tagged into the match. Shark Boy takes Gowan down with a dropkick and picks up a near fall. Gowan then counters Shark Boy and takes him down with an inverted DDT and tags Skipper into the match. Shark Boy then clotheslines Skipper over the top rope as Clark does a moonsault onto the floor and takes them both out. Gowan tries for a moonsault but Delirious knocks him down. Red then takes out Delirious and takes out the three on the floor with the Infrared from the top rope.
Bodies are everywhere as a Tower of Doom takes out five of the competitors. Gowan was the only left out and he hits a moonsault on Clark and goes for the cover but Shark Boy breaks it up. Shark Boy then dumps Gowan as a series of near falls take place with each guy hitting a signature move. Shark Boy finally hits the Dead Sea Drop on Delirious to pick up the pin fall in this chaotic opening match.
Abyss is seen looking at himself in the mirror in the backstage area as the announce team says he will be one of the competitors in tonight’s King of the Mountain Match. Abyss then smashes the mirror with his fist as we head off to Shane Douglas, who is standing by with Shocker. Shocker says he came to TNA for the competition and wants to prove that he is the best Mexican luchadore around. Alex Shelley comes in and says he can wrestle several different styles and tells Shocker that he has a counter for anything he has. Shelley walks away as Shocker goes off in Spanish and says Shelley doesn’t know what he got himself in to.
Match 2: Alex Shelley vs. Shocker
The match starts as Shocker and Shelley go back and forth with a series of counters and reversals. Shelley retreats to the floor to regroup for a moment and they go back to the counters and reversals once Shelley returns. Shelley offers a handshake but Shocker won’t take it and Shelley kicks him in the midsection. Shelley then takes him down with a shoulder block but Shocker quickly comes back with a dropkick and a hurricanrana.
Shelley goes out to the floor to regroup and tosses Shocker out to the floor when he returns. Shelley goes to dive on Shocker but Shocker moves and Shelley lands on the floor mat. Shocker then takes Shelley down with a missile dropkick from the apron as he rolls Shelley back into the ring. Shocker slams Shelley to the mat and goes for a moonsault but Shelley blocks it by getting the knees up. Shelley then hits a Russian leg sweep and turns it into a submission hold before hitting a suplex that goes into a cover for a near fall.
Shelley heads to the top rope but Shocker counters with a dropkick. Shelley rolls out to the floor and Shocker dives through the ropes and takes Shelley out. Back in the ring, Shelley regains the momentum and picks up a few near falls over Shocker, but he continues to kick out. Shelley tries for Tornado DDT but Shocker counters and pin Shelley with a small package to pick up the pin fall. Shelley can’t believe he got pinned as Shocker celebrates his victory.
The number five top moment in TNA’s three year history as voted on by fans is aired and it is AJ Styles winning the NWA World Championship for the first time in June 2003. Footage of the match is aired where Styles hit the Styles Clash on Jeff Jarrett to pick up the pin fall.
Shane Douglas is backstage with the 3Live Kru and wants to know where BG James’ loyalty is at. James says it has nothing to do with Douglas and turns to his partners and says Konnan and Ron Killings are his family and promises that his actions tonight will speak louder than words. We then see a video package on the upcoming match between Killings and the Outlaw. The history between James and the Outlaw is also touched upon and the tension it has caused within the 3Live Kru.
Match 3: The Outlaw vs. Ron Killings
The bell rings and the two feel each other out with arm bars and hammer locks. The Outlaw takes Killings down with a shoulder block but Killings comes back with a hurricanrana. The Outlaw gets into an argument with the referee as Killings connects with a missile dropkick. The Outlaw evens the playing field with a low blow and causes Killings to crotch himself on the top rope. Killings rolls out to the floor and the Outlaw goes out and sends him into the steel steps. A few fans hold up a chair as a “Use the chair!” chant begins. The Outlaw tries to send Killings into it but Killings counters and drives the Outlaws head into the chair.
The match returns to the ring where the Outlaw begins to wear down Killings with a chinlock and grounds Killings. The Outlaw begins to take his time going to the middle rope and Killings is able to get his boots up and takes down the Outlaw. Killings then connects with a flying forearm but misses with an scissors kick. The Outlaw then hits Killings with a Fameasser and then tries for his finisher but Killings counters and rolls the Outlaw up to pick up the pin fall. The Outlaw levels Killings with a clothesline after the match and hits his finisher.
The Outlaw then grabs a chair as BG James runs out and grabs it from him as the fans start a “New Age Outlaws!” chant. James sits there with the chair until Konnan runs out and hits the Outlaw from behind and takes him out of the ring. Konnan and James begin to argue over the fact that James didn’t do anything as 3Live Kru leaves the ring.
The number four top moment of TNA’s three year history is aired and it is the debut of Raven in January 2003, where he delivered the Raven Effect on Jeff Jarrett and stole the NWA World Championship.
Shane Douglas is backstage with Team Canada and Bobby Roode calls out Lance Hoyt and tells him to be prepared for tonight’s match. Petey Williams then calls out the Naturals and says their losing streak will begin tonight. Shane Douglas asks about the new advisor the Naturals have and Scott D’Amore says he doesn’t care who it is because Team Canada is great fighters and D’Amore is one of the greatest leaders of all time.

Match 4: Team Canada vs. the Naturals (NWA Tag Team Championship)
Petey Williams and Eric Young are joined by Scott D’Amore and A1 for this title match. The bell rings as Young starts off against Chase Stevens as they go back and forth in the opening moments. The two trade blows in the ring until Young falls down and Andy Douglas is tagged into the match. The Naturals double team Young but he is able to make it to his corner to tag Williams into the match. Douglas begins to work over Williams and puts him in a leg lock until Young comes in and breaks it up. All four end up in the ring and the Naturals take down Team Canada and picks up a near fall.
Young and Stevens are back in the match and Young plays possum for a bit before dumping Stevens out to the floor. While the referee is distracted, A1 and D’Amore assault Stevens until Williams rolls him back into the ring. Williams is tagged back into the match and continues to pound on Stevens as Team Canada begins to use quick tags in and out of the ring to wear Stevens down. Young picks up a near fall after hitting a top rope leg drop and continues to work him over with a head lock. Williams comes in and hits Stevens with a slingshot leg drop and picks up another near fall.
Stevens begins to fight back against Young and hits a flurry of punches until Young dumps Stevens out to the floor. A1 and D’Amore pick up the pieces as the referee is distracted and send him into the steel steps. Stevens is rolled into the ring where Team Canada continues the beat down until Stevens gets a second wind, however, A1 trips him up. Douglas goes out and nails A1 before running back to his side of the ring where he gets the hot tag from Stevens.
Douglas comes in and takes down both Young and Williams before picking up a near fall with a full nelson slam. Williams stops Douglas’ momentum and puts him in the Sharpshooter. Young heads to the top rope for a leg drop but Stevens pushes Young off the turnbuckle and crotches him on the ropes. Stevens then comes in and goes for a powerbomb but Williams is able to counter and hits a DDT. Douglas sends Young out to the floor as Stevens and Williams go at it in the ring. The Naturals then hit a double team move on Williams to pick up another near fall, but Williams is able to kick out.
The Naturals then hit the Natural Disaster on Young but Williams is able to break up the pin attempt. Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer but Douglas escapes only to be hit in the back with a hockey stick from A1. Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer once again but Jimmy Hart runs out and Stevens hits Williams with Hart’s megaphone. Douglas then rolls up Williams to pick up the pin fall and retains the NWA Tag Team Championship. The Naturals and Jimmy Hart celebrate on the ring entrance as the announce team are ecstatic over the fact that Hart is their legendary advisor.
The third greatest moment in TNA’s three year history is aired and it is Lockdown, wrestling’s first all steel cage match pay-per-view. Footage from the Lockdown event is aired, which includes Trinity’s moonsault off the cage.
Shane Douglas is backstage with Sean Waltman and says he is a hell of a backstage politician and believes that he belongs in the King of the Mountain Match. Waltman says the NWA World Championship is on the line and he will take any shot that he can get.
Match 5: Sonjay Dutt vs. Samoa Joe
Mike Tenay talks about how Samoa Joe has reigned over Ring of Honor and how he has lost only one match over the past two years. Joe makes his TNA debut tonight and starts off with a flurry of punches on Dutt. Joe then slams Dutt hard to the mat and hits a knee drop as the fans start a “Joe!” chant. Joe continues to dominate Dutt and picks up a near fall in the process. Dutt is able to use his quickness to send Joe out to the floor and takes him out with a dive over the top rope.
The match returns to the ring where Dutt connects with some kicks and picks up a near fall after hitting a missile dropkick. Dutt then hits an enziguri and tries for a high risk move but Joe rolls out of the way and takes Dutt down with a snap slam. Joe then puts Dutt on the turnbuckle and kicks him in the head before hitting the Muscle Buster. Joe then puts Dutt in a rear naked choke and makes Dutt tap out as Joe wins his TNA debut by submission.
The announce team hype Bound for Glory that is coming up in October and say that it is their version of the World Series. They then hype tonight’s main event and say that Raven is the wild card. Raven says he feels sorry for his opponents as fate has opened up and he will not be stopped. Raven says he is a human cancer and the only way he can be stopped is to be killed. Tonight, he will become the NWA World Champion and fulfill his destiny.
Match 6: Bobby Roode vs. Lance Hoyt
Scott D’Amore comes out with Roode for this match. The bell rings and Hoyt powers Roode down and slams him down to the mat. Hoyt then clotheslines Roode over the top rope but Roode drags him out as they fight around the ring. Hoyt slams Roode into the apron and rolls him into the ring. D’Amore then grabs Hoyt’s leg as he tries to get into the ring and Roode knocks Hoyt of the apron and into the guard railing. D’Amore gets involved and sends Hoyt into the railing once more before rolling him into the ring.
Roode takes control of the match and chokes him over the middle rope before hitting him with a few knees to the midsection. Roode then takes Hoyt down with a back drop and picks up a near fall. Roode then heads to the top rope but Hoyt cuts him off and slams him down to the mat. Hoyt then hits a couples of clotheslines before face planting him on the mat. Hoyt then takes Roode down with a chokeslam and heads to the top rope but D’Amore grabs his leg. Roode then hits a powerbomb on Hoyt but he kicks out. Roode then grabs the hockey stick but the referee takes it away from him. Hoyt then slams Roode down to the mat and sets up for a big boot but Hoyt again grabs Hoyt. While Hoyt is distracted, Roode nails him with the Northern Lariat to pick up the pin fall.
D’Amore then grabs a microphone and says Hoyt learned a very painful lesson, however, school’s not over yet. Roode then continues attacking Hoyt as D’Amore slaps him a few times. Hoyt gets up and grabs D’Amore but Roode again takes him out. D’Amore then goes for a moonsault, but Hoyt rolls out of the way. Hoyt then takes Roode out with a big boot and drives D’Amore down to the mat with a chokeslam. Hoyt then hits D’Amore with a moonsault before leaving the ring as Team Canada comes out to help their partners. Team Canada checks on their leader as trainers come out with a stretcher and carry D’Amore out of the ring.
The number two top moment in TNA’s three year history is aired and it the debut of Jeff Hardy in June 2004.
Shane Douglas is backstage with AJ Styles and says that past year has been unbelievable for him. Styles says when he steps in the ring tonight for the King of the Mountain Match, he will become a challenger. He says he will have to work four times as hard to retain the NWA World Championship and calls this the biggest match in his TNA career.
A video package shows the recent events going on between AMW and the 3Live Kru. It seems that neither team has been on the same page as of late as these two teams will go at it in the next match.
Match 7: America’s Most Wanted vs. 3Live Kru
The match starts as Konnan and Chris Harris start it off for their teams. Konnan starts off storm and throws his shoe at both Harris and James Storm, but Storm comes in and takes Konnan down. Storm is tagged into the match as he begins to work over Konnan as AMW begins to work together to wear down Konnan. Harris hits Konnan with a double axe handle and picks up a near fall before turning it over to Storm. Storm heads to the top rope but Konnan is able to block Storm by holding up a boot and tags BG James into the match.
James comes in and takes down both members of AMW but he runs into a superkick from Storm, which gets a two count for Storm. AMW then double teams James and Harris picks up another near fall after hitting a bulldog. AMW continues to work over James with quick tags in and out of the ring and pick up a couple more pin attempts. Harris heads to the middle rope but James is able to counter Harris’ attack with a blow to the midsection. James causes Harris to run into Storm as the Outlaw comes out and goes after Konnan. Back in the ring, AMW hits a double team move on James and they pick up the pin fall to win the match.
After the match, Konnan tries to tell James that the Outlaw came out, which is why he wasn’t there for his partner. Konnan tries to make amends but James waves him off and walks away. James then sees the Outlaw on the ramp as he turns around and walks out alone.
The greatest moment in TNA’s three year history is aired and it is Elix Skipper’s cage walk into a hurricanrana at Turning Point 2004 as footage of the move is aired.
A video package is aired that shows the feud between Michael Shane and Chris Sabin and Shane turning on Trinity and Traci Brooks turning on Sabin. Trinity and Sabin have decided to work together and Christopher Daniels will be defending the X Division Title against both of them and that match is up next. The announce team breaks down the bullet points of the match as we head into the second title match of the night.
Match 8: Michael Shane vs. Chris Sabin vs. Christopher Daniels (Elimination Match for X Division Title)
Traci and Trinity join Shane and Sabin for this match. The bell rings as Shane and Sabin work together against Daniels before they turn their attentions on each other. Sabin knocks Shane down as Daniels comes in and begins to assault Sabin. Daniels locks Sabin in a submission hold but it is broken up by Shane. Shane then slams Daniels down to the mat and picks up a near fall over the champion. Shane and Sabin again go at it and Daniels joins in and takes Sabin down with a drop toe hold. Daniels then drops Shane onto Sabin as they both fall out to the ring. Daniels then hits a split leg moonsault onto Sabin on the floor and Shane rolls Sabin back into the ring.
Shane works over Sabin a bit as Daniels comes in and the two try to one up each other by working over Sabin, however, Shane tosses Daniels out to the floor. Shane then slams Sabin down to the mat and picks up a near fall as Daniels watches on from the floor. Shane then hits Sabin with a slingshot leg drop to pick up another near fall. Daniels then back drops Shane out to the floor and Sabin tries to jump out on Daniels, but he counters and drives a knee into Sabin’s midsection. Daniels rolls Shane into the ring and continues to wear him down and goes for the Angel’s Wings but Shane counters it. Sabin then enters the ring and kicks Daniels while hitting Shane with a DDT as they are all laid out in the ring.
The three get up to their feet and Sabin takes them both down as Daniels rolls out to the floor. Sabin then tries for the Cradle Shock but Shane escapes and Sabin dives over the top rope and takes Daniels out on the floor. Sabin then connects with a missile dropkick on Shane to pick up another near fall. Traci then gets involved and trips up Sabin and Trinity also gets involved by tripping up Shane. Traci and Trinity meet in the ring and get into a cat fight until Trinity dumps Traci out to the floor. Daniels then grabs Trinity and Shane sets up for superkick, but Sabin cuts him off and hits the Cradle Shock and picks up the pin fall to eliminate Shane from the match.
Daniels then hits Trinity with the Angel’s Wings as Sabin shakes his head. The two then go at it as this match continues and Sabin picks up a near fall after hitting a snap slam. Daniels comes back with a Death Valley Driver on Sabin and picks up a couple of near falls but Sabin is able to kick out. Daniels begins to ground Sabin but Sabin fights back and rolls him up for another near fall. Sabin then connects with a bulldog before hitting a bridging suplex for another near fall. Daniels fights back with a series of head butts and picks up a near fall after hitting a STO. Daniels again picks up a close near fall after hitting the BME but Sabin kicks out.
Sabin is able to connect with a dropkick and hits a springboard DDT for a near fall over the champion. Sabin goes for another springboard but Daniels kicks the ropes and crotches Sabin on the top rope. Daniels then hits the Angel’s Wings to pick up the pin fall and retain the X Division Title.
Shane Douglas is backstage with Monty Brown who says Jeff Jarrett being hauled off has nothing to do with him as tonight’s match is all about survival. Brown says he will be the King of the Mountain and people will find out why he is the Alpha Male and the four other Omega Males will feel the Pounce⦠period.
A video package highlighting the King of the Mountain match is aired and it goes over the rules explaining the penalty box and how it is a reverse ladder match. The announce team then runs down the tale of the tape and the bullet points as we head into the main event of Slammiversary.
Match 9: Monty Brown vs. Abyss vs. Sean Waltman vs. Raven vs. AJ Styles (King of the Mountain Match for NWA World Championship)
Jeremy Borash is in the ring and does the formal introductions for tonight’s main event. Larry Zybyszko will be sitting ringside and will be holding the NWA World Championship. Borash also states that pin fall can happen anywhere in the building and only after scoring a pin fall can a wrestler try to hang the title above the ring. The bell rings as Waltman dives off the penalty box and takes out Raven and AJ Styles dives off the ladder and takes out Abyss. Brown then hits Raven with the Pounce and he pins Raven, thus Raven has to go to the box for two minutes and Brown is eligible to hang up the title. Waltman cuts off Brown on the floor and Abyss takes out Abyss by diving over the ropes.
Waltman and Brown begin to battle in the ring as Abyss comes in and smashes Brown in the corner. Waltman takes Abyss down with a spin kick but Brown nails Waltman from behind and tosses him across the ring. Raven comes out of the penalty box about 10 seconds early and Brown pins Waltman to send him to the box. Raven sets up a table on the floor and Styles climbs to the top of the box and he jumps into the ring but he quickly feels the Pounce from Brown. Raven then pulls Styles out to the floor and pins Styles to send him to the box and Raven can hang up the title.
Abyss then grabs Brown and sets up for the Shock Treatment but Raven throws a garbage can at Abyss and also nails Brown with it. Raven then takes both Abyss and Brown down with clotheslines as Waltman and Styles appear to be forming a partnership in the box. Waltman is out of the box and grabs a trash can and nails Brown and Abyss with them until Abyss kicks it into Waltman’s face. All four are laid out in the ring as Styles is released from the box. Abyss then hits Brown with the Black Hole Slam and Brown has to go into the box for two minutes.
Raven, Brown and Abyss are all eligible to hang the title thus far and Styles tries to pin Raven with the Styles Clash but Abyss breaks up the pin attempt. Styles then kicks Abyss out to the floor and Waltman hits him with a chair. Waltman then puts Abyss on a table as Styles flies off the top rope and sends Abyss through the table with the Spiral Tap. Styles pins Abyss and sends him into the box as Brown’s time expires. This leaves Waltman as the final person who is not eligible to hang the title. Brown comes out and Raven sends him into the guard railing.
Styles tries to hang the title but he drops it when he is on top of the ladder. Waltman hands Styles the title but then drives him down to the mat with an X Factor from the top of the ladder. Waltman then picks up the pin fall as Styles is sent to the box and everyone is eligible to hang the title. Raven the goes after Waltman and begins to use a staple gun on Waltman’s head. Abyss is released as Waltman uses the staple gun between Raven’s and Abyss’ legs. Waltman then sets up the ladder and starts to climb as Styles is released. Styles meets Waltman on the ladder but Abyss pushes them both off the ladder and through a table set up on the floor.
Abyss grabs the title and is about to climb the ladder as but Brown takes him out with the Pounce. Raven then comes in and takes Brown out with the Raven Effect and he climbs up the ladder with the title. Abyss gets up and tries to climb up but Raven is able to kick Abyss off and hangs the title to win the match. Raven becomes the new NWA World Champion and he has completed his destiny. Raven celebrates with his championship as all of the challengers are shown looking on in disbelief and shock. Raven puts the title around his waist and poses for the crowd as Slammiversary comes to an end.
