Turning Point opens with video off the Randy Savage, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy talking about how they love wrestling and are living their dream. We then see the Kings of Wrestling wearing Elvis outfits and say how it is good to be the kings. The younger talent talks about what Randy Savage means to them, while the KoW mocks Savage, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy. Savage, Hardy and Styles says playtime is over tonight.
We head into the Turning Point intro as we head into the live crowd at Universal Studios as the pyro goes off. The announce team welcome us to tonight’s pay-per-view as they preview the card for Turning Point. They hype the X Division Championship match and the Six Sides of Steel match before hyping the 6-man tag team main event.
A limo is arriving in the parking lot and it is parody of Vince McMahon and Triple H as Abyss tries to hand them balloons. Neither of them want them as Abyss chases them away. We then head into the opening match, which is for the NWA Tag Team Championship. Mike Tenay runs down the bullet points for tonight’s match before we get things started.
Match 1: 3Live Kru vs. Team Canada (NWA Tag Team Championship)
Konnan was hurt by the Kings of Wrestling so Ron Killings is taking his spot in the match up. During their ring introduction, BG James dedicates the match to Konnan and does his usual schtick before going into his. Scott D’Amore leads his team to the ring for this matchup and is carrying his trademark hockey stick. The bell rings as James starts out strong against Eric Young and slams him down to the mat. The Kru hits a double team move on Young but Killings does a little showboating and allows Young to make the tag to Bobby Roode.
Roode and Killings counter each other for a moment and Killings is finally able to use his speed to take Roode down. James is tagged back in as he hits his shaky knee drop for a near fall. Killings is tagged back in and a distraction causes Team Canada to gain control of the match. Young picks up a near fall after hitting a backbreaker and Team Canada isolates Killings to their corner and use quick tags in and out to keep the fresh man in. Young does a little too much showboating as Killings is able to connect with a missile dropkick.
Young tags in Roode and prevents Killings from tagging James into the match. Roode then misses with a clothesline as Killings is able to make the hot tag to James. James comes in and takes out both members of Team Canada and picks up a near fall on Roode but Young is able to break it up. The match breaks down as Killings takes out Young with a scissors kick and Roode nearly puts the match away with a spinebuster for a near fall. 3Live Kru then hits a double team move but Scott D’Amore distracts the referee so they can’t make the pin attempt.
James then goes for the pump handle slam on Roode but D’Amore distracts the referee as Johnny Devine runs into the ring and breaks the hockey stick over the back of James. Devine then runs out of the ring as Roode makes the cover and picks up the pin fall as Team Canada becomes the new NWA Tag Team Champions. Devine hands the titles to Roode and Young as D’Amore screams out that he got his boy back.
Shane Douglas is backstage with Dusty Rhodes and asks what he has planned tonight for Turning Point. Rhodes says this is the most electrifying night in pay-per-view history as it will be a night to remember with the Kings of Wrestling going up against Randy Savage, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy. Rhodes goes on to say that the fans have spoken on the Internet and they want to see footage of Cookiegate. Rhodes says a limo from up north has arrived and he is going to go outside to see if they want to come get some.
We see a footage package of last month’s episode with Kid Kash and Jimmy Snuka. Sonjay Dutt says Snuka is one of his favorite wrestlers and says there was no way he was going to let Kid Kash do that to Jimmy Snuka. Dutt says he is still standing after Kash hit him with a coconut and now it’s his turn.
Match 2: Kid Kash/Kazarian/Michael Shane vs. Sonny Siaki/Hector Garza/Sonjay Dutt (6-Man Tag Team Match)
The match starts as Dutt gets in Kash’s face and the two go at each other with a series of chain wrestling. Dutt finally knocks Kash down with a couple kicks before tagging Garza into the match. Kash pokes Garza in the eyes as Michael Shane is tagged into the match and drops him with a right fist. Garza tries to mount a comeback but he slips on the ropes as Shane tags Kazarian into the match. Garza mounts a comeback as Siaki is tagged into the match.
Siaki overpowers Kazarian as Dutt makes the blind tag and he takes Kazarian down from the top rope with a hurricanrana. Traci then trips up Dutt as Kazarian takes him down with a DDT. Shane is tagged back into the match and irks over Dutt’s arm before Kash comes in and continues to work over the arm. Kash begins to power him around as continues to work over the arm as Shane comes in with the referee’s back turned and acts like he was tagged in.
Kazarian is tagged in as Kazarian hits a springboard leg drop and they isolate Dutt into the corner. They work over Dutt’s arm by keeping the fresh man in the ring as Dutt is nearly defenseless. Dutt finally hits Kazarian with a hurricanrana and slowly makes his way to the corner to tag Garza not the match. Garza takes out all three of his opponents and hits a moonsault on Kazarian but Kash breaks up the pin attempt.
Siaki sends Shane and Kash out to the floor then launches Dutt over the top rope and on top of them. Back in the ring, Traci climbs to the top rope and dives at Siaki but she accidentally hits Kazarian. Garza then hits a corkscrew off the top rope and lands on Kazarian to pick up the pin fall victory. Dutt, Siaki and Garza celebrate in the ring as the announce team say they won the match out of the respect of Jimmy Snuka.
Scott Hudson is backstage and is standing with Randy Savage, who says it is going to be the turning point for Savage, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles as he won’t allow the Kings of Wrestling to win on his watch. The announce team breaks down the main event and say that the young stars really need a veteran like Savage to look up to. They then hype more of the Turning Point card before sending it back to Scott Hudson.
Scott Hudson is backstage with Petey Williams and Scott D’Amore and Williams says he is the X Division Champion and he has more than one move up his sleeve. He continues to say that he knows Chris Sabin since they trained together with the same trainer, who was D’Amore. D’Amore steps in and says he knew which of his students he wanted to guide further and says the one difference is that Williams is a winner.
A video package highlighting the feud between Abyss and Monty Brown is aired. It shows Abyss nailing Brown with a 2×4 prior to his title match against Jeff Jarrett, which caused Brown to challenge Abyss to a Serengeti Match in a survival of the fittest. That match can be won by pin fall, submission, or throwing your opponent into a pile of thumbtacks, and that match is up next.
Match 3: Abyss vs. Monty Brown (Serengeti Match)
Monty Brown comes out with taped ribs and says that he doesn’t know how they do things in “parts unknown” but in the Serengeti they do things all around. Brown challenges Abyss to come out and fight him on the ramp. The bell rings as Brown sends Abyss into the guard railing a few times and into the steel steps. Abyss mounts a comeback and focuses on Brown’s taped ribs. Abyss then removes the tape and begins to pound on him around the ringside area.
Abyss pulls out a table and sets it up in the corner of the ring before grabbing his bag of tacks. Abyss does a little too much posing with the tacks as Brown hits him from behind before taking him down with a clothesline. Abyss comes back and levels Brown with a big boot to pick up a near fall. Abyss then heads out to the floor and grabs a steel chair and hits Brown across the back with it. Abyss then puts the chair across Brown’s chest and lands a sit down splash for another near fall.
Abyss continues to wear Brown down and goes for another splash on top of the chair but Brown holds up the chair and crotches Abyss. Brown then nails Abyss in the head with the chair before picking him up and hits a running power slam on top of the chair. Brown then goes for the Pounce but Abyss counters with the Black Hole Slam. Abyss covers Brown but he kicks out at two count.
Abyss then sets up the chair in the corner of the ring but Brown sends Abyss headfirst into the chair. Brown then hits the Pounce and knocks Abyss out to the floor. The crowd begins to chant for the thumbtacks as Brown rolls Abyss back into the ring and goes for the cover but Abyss kicks out. Brown then goes for another Pounce but Abyss ducks out of the way and Brown goes flying into the table that was set up in the corner.
Abyss goes for the cover but Brown kicks out. Abyss then heads out and grabs the thumbtacks as Brown grabs a bag of tack of his own. Brown lays out the tacks and Abyss grabs Brown by the neck but Brown counters and rips off Abyss’ shirt and begins to chop him near the thumbtacks. Brown then goes for the Alphabomb but Abyss fights out of it. Abyss then sets up for a powerbomb but Brown counters and sends Abyss into the thumbtacks with the Alphabomb to win the match. We see Abyss’ back that is full of tacks as he rolls around in pain and Brown celebrates his victory.
The Vince McMahon impersonator is with the fake Triple H and they are looking for the Cookiegate tape. They manage to find one and smash it with a sledgehammer but it was only a “Best of D-Ray 3000″ tape. The announce team talk about Dusty Rhodes’ promise about airing the Cookiegate tape. They then hyping the rest of the card as the crew clean up all of the thumbtacks in the ring.
Match 4: The New York Connection vs. Pat Kenney & Johnny B. Badd (w/ Jacqueline as the referee)
Kenney starts out against Johnny Swinger and Kenney quickly takes him down and hits him with a flurry of punches. Kenney continues on the attack as Swinger begs for him to back off and offers a handshake. Kenney doesn’t fall for it and tags Badd into the match as they both take Swinger down with a double back elbow. Swinger finally counters with a jawbreaker and tags Glen Gilbertti into the match. Badd takes Gilbertti down with a dropkick and an arm drag before tagging Kenney back into the match.
Kenney comes in and picks up a near fall but a distraction causes Kenney do be tossed out to the floor where Swinger sends him into the ring post. Gilbertti begins to stomp on Kenny as Swinger is tagged back in and continues to work over Kenney’s back. NYC then isolates Kenney in their corner and work him over with quick tags. Miscommunication has Gilbertti nail Swinger and Kenney tries to suplex Gilbertti but his back gives out. Swinger is tagged back in and he continues to wear down Kenney until Kenney counters and makes the tag to Badd.
Badd comes in and takes out both members of NYC with a few high knee kicks before connecting with a double axe handle on Gilbertti. The match then breaks down as Gilbertti shoves Jacqueline as she comes back and shoves him. Gilbertti pie faces Jacqueline and she slams him down to the mat. Badd then hits the TKO and makes the cover for the pin fall. Badd and Kenney celebrate the victory as we are sent to the parking lot where there is something going down.
The Kings of Wrestling are seen shoving Randy Savage into a car and the car speeds away. The announce team can’t believe what just happened and wonder how that is going to impact tonight’s main event. Don West says they must have had this planned all along and wonders who will stop them now.
We are treated to a video package that goes over the history of Raven and Diamond Dallas Page. DDP is seen giving Raven a few Diamond Cutters as DDP says Raven has been in his head for over two years now. Erik Watts’ mysterious involvement is also touched upon as Watts joins the announce team for this match.
Match 5: Raven vs. Diamond Dallas Page
The bell rings as DDP hits Raven with a series of rights and takes him down with a clothesline. The referee ends up being laid out by DDP as he then kicks Raven out to the floor. Referees come out to check on Rudy Charles as DDP sends Raven into the guard railing a few times before the brawl goes out to the crowd. DDP hits Raven with a crutch and a garbage can before the match heads back to the ring and we have a new referee. DDP crotches Raven in the ring post and goes for a Diamond Cutter but Raven blocks it and tries to go for the pin fall while using the ropes for leverage, but DDP kicks out.
Raven then goes under the ring and grabs his helmet and nails DDP with it a few times. Raven then grabs a chair and sets it up in the middle of the ring before taking DDP down with a drop toe hold into the chair. Raven picks up a near fall but DDP gets a sudden rush of energy and takes Raven down with a few clotheslines. Raven counters with a mule kick and rolls him up but DDP kicks out. Raven follows with a bulldog for another near fall. Raven then connects with a superkick for yet another near fall. DDP then hits a Diamond Cutter from nowhere but Raven kicks out of the pin attempt.
Two cloaked men come out to the ringside area as Raven hits a low blow and follows with the Raven Effect for a two count. Erik Watts then leaves the announce table and goes into the ring to make sure the clocked men don’t interfere. Watts takes them both out with a couple of powerbombs before he levels DDP with a clothesline. Watts picks up DDP and DDP hits him with the Diamond Cutter and Raven sees an opening to take DDP out with another Raven Effect but DDP counters with the Diamond Cutter to pick up the pin fall. DDP leaves through the crowd as Erik Watts is seen looking on with a shocked expression on his face.
Video footage of the Vince McMahon and Triple H impostors is aired. McMahon is seen talking bad about the catering situation as Traci Brooks comes up to them and offers milk and cookies but McMahon slaps them away and tells Triple H to go fetch Dusty Rhodes for him.
A video package highlighting the X Division Championship match is aired. Petey Williams talks about his Canadian Destroyer finisher as Chris Sabin is seen hitting Williams with the Cradle Shock three times over the past few weeks. The announce team runs down the bullet points for the match as we head into the next match of the night.
Match 6: Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams (X Division Championship)
Scott D’Amore is in Petey Williams’ corner for this title match. The bell rings as they set off a series of chain wrestling until Sabin goes for the Cradle Shock but Williams escapes and retreats out to the floor. Williams returns and the two start another quick exchange and Sabin takes Williams down with a springboard dropkick. Williams again goes out to the floor as D’Amore gives him some advice. Williams escapes another attempt at the Cradle Shock and the match goes out to the floor and Williams takes Sabin out with a hurrincanrana on the floor. Sabin fights back with a kick and a few chops before Sabin tosses Williams into the guard railing.
Sabin goes out to the crowd and climbs on the bleachers wall before jumping over several rows of fans and onto Williams. The fans start a “TNA!” chant as the match returns to the ring. Williams hangs Sabin across the top rope and knocks him to the floor once again. Williams then distracts the referee as D’Amore gets in a few cheap shots before rolling Sabin back into the ring. Williams continues on the attack and picks up a couple of near falls but Sabin is able to kick out. Williams then lands a spike DDT for yet another near fall.
Williams locks Sabin in a submission hold to wear him down but Sabin counters with a roll up but Williams kicks out and takes him down with a dropkick. Williams continues on the attack and hits Sabin with a suplex and a back drop and covers for a two count. Williams is showing signs of frustration as D’Amore takes another cheap shot on Sabin while Williams distracts the referee. Williams heads to the top rope but Sabin springs to his feet and tosses Williams down to the canvas. Both are laid out on the mat as the referee starts the 10 count. They both get back to their feet and exchange blows until Sabin connects with an enziguri. Sabin then hits a running powerbomb for a near fall over the champion.
Sabin heads to the top rope but Williams knocks him down. Williams the dives at Sabin but Sabin lifts himself out of the way as Williams slides out to the floor. Sabin then dives off the top rope and onto Williams before sending Williams back into the ring for another near fall. Williams is able to counter Sabin’s followup and takes Sabin down with a Russian leg sweep. Sabin then counters and goes for the Cradle Shock but Williams counters into the Sharpshooter. Williams has the submission move locked in the middle of the ring but Sabin manages to crawl his way to the ring ropes to break the hold.
Sabin comes back and tries to go for a superplex but he ends up tossing Williams across the ring. Sabin the hits a piledriver and goes for the cover but Williams kicks out of the pin attempt. Sabin then goes for the Cradle Shock but D’Amore interferes and Williams is able to escape. D’Amore then distracts the referee as Williams puts on a pair of brass knuckles and lays out Sabin to pick up the pin fall and Williams retains the X Division Championship. Team Canada runs out to celebrate the victory with Williams as the announce team is irate over how he won the match.
A midget is seen knocking on Vince McMahon’s door and says he is a TNA official. The midget kicks him in the shin before hitting him with the cookie sheet and walking away.
A video package highlights the invasion of the Kings of Wrestling, who have dominated their way to the top. It shows their dominance over the young guys but have been threatened by Randy Savage. The battle lines have been drawn and TNA will reach a turning point. The huge six man tag team match is coming up next.
Match 7: The Kings of Wrestling vs. AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy/Randy Savage (6-Man Tag Team Match)
Hardy and Styles are wrestling by themselves in this match as Savage was taken away earlier in the night. The match starts as Styles faces off against Jeff Jarrett and start off with a chain of grappling maneuvers. Styles finally takes Jarrett down with a dropkick as Jarrett tags in Scott Hall. Hall comes in and toys with Styles, until Styles fires back with a few kicks and takes him down with a dropkick. Styles then calls out Kevin Nash as he is tagged into the match and powers Styles around until Styles takes him down with a dropkick. Styles then delivers dropkicks to both Jarrett and Hall before tagging Hardy into the match.
Hardy comes in and continues to work over Nash with a series of kicks but a distraction by Hall allows Nash to take Hardy down with a big boot. Jarrett is tagged back into the match and stomps on Hardy before turning the match over to Hall. Hall chokeslams Hardy to the mat and picks up a near fall then tags Nash into the match. Nash drops Hardy with a side slam and covers but Styles breaks up the pin attempt. Hall comes back in and locks Hardy in the abdominal stretch as Nash pulls on Hall’s hand for leverage. Hall begins to toy with Hardy again but Hardy is able to connect with a kick before making it to the corner to tag in Styles.
Styles comes in and takes all three of his opponents out before taking Jarrett out with an inverted DDT. Styles then sets up for the Styles Clash but Jarrett escapes. Styles then goes for a flying forearm, but Nash knocks him off the ropes. Hall comes back in to the match and slams him down to the mat with the fallaway slam for another near fall. Nash is tagged in a works over Styles before picking up a couple of near falls. Jarrett is tagged back in and tries for the figure four but Styles counters into a pin attempt but Jarrett kicks out. Jarrett then tags in Hall, who isolates Styles to their side of the ring and continue to wear Styles down.
Nash comes in and locks Styles in a bear hug as the fans rally behind Styles. Styles fights his way out and tags Hardy into the match but the referee didn’t see it and doesn’t allow it. Jarrett is tagged in and the two begin to trade blows and they take each other out with a cross body block. The referee begins a 10 count as they both make it to their feet and Styles tags Hardy into the match. Hardy starts taking out all of the Kings of Wrestling before taking Jarrett out with the Twist of Fate. Styles also flies in and takes Hall out with a flying forearm and they both make their cover but Nash pulls out the referee and lays him out.
Styles goes out to the floor and sends Nash into the steel post as Hardy climbs to the top rope but Hall takes him out with a guitar shot. Hardy lands on top of Jarrett but the referee is still out on the floor. Styles then takes Hall out with a dive from the ring as everyone is laid out. Randy Savage finally appears and reaches out his arm to be tagged by Hardy. Savage comes in and lays everyone out with a series of rights and lefts. Savage then locks Jarrett in a sleeper hold as Hardy and Styles follow and put Hall and Nash in sleeper holds. Savage then nails Jarrett with a right and sits on top of him to pick up the pin fall. Randy Savage, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles celebrate their victory over the Kings of Wrestling.
Vince McMahon is seen being wheeled out on a stretcher and put into an ambulance as he is yelling at Triple H. Triple H wants to know what he is supposed to do but the ambulance takes him away. We then head to the announce table where they run down what just happened in the 6-man tag match and hype the upcoming Six Sides of Steel match. They they hype the next pay-per-view event named Final Resolution as we are treated to a video package where wrestlers talk about their resolutions.
Mike Tenay is getting word that something is happening outside the production truck as we head back and see Dusty Rhodes telling the truck to air the Cookiegate tape. The tape is aired and we see Shane Douglas walking with Abyss, who is carrying balloons, and Traci Brooks, who has a plate full of cookies, and they are off to welcome WWE to the area.
BG James and Ron Killings walks up to them and makes conversation as all of the WWE wrestlers are blurred out. James asks if Vince remembers him as he made him a lot of money. Konnan is also there but only Rey Mysterio can be made out as he shakes their hands and greets them. We head back to the announce table where Mike Tenay wants to know why the WWE would want to sue them over that as they were trying to welcome them to the area. Tenay says it’s not like they drove a tank to their show like the WWE did to WCW back in the day.
We see a video package that focuses on the upcoming Six Sides of Steel match between Triple X and AMW. We see footage of the last time these two teams met in a cage match. This time around, the loser will have to break up and never wrestle together again. Mike Tenay says no hype is necessary for this match and they just want to see the two teams turned loose on each other.
Match 8: Triple X vs. America’s Most Wanted (Six Sides of Steel – Loser Must Break Up)
The cage door is locked and the bell rings to get this match started. Both teams go back and forth in the opening moments with neither team holding an advantage for long. AMW finally sends Christopher Daniels into the cage wall and his is already busted open. AMW uses quick tags to wear Daniels down but interference by Skipper allows Daniels to tag his partner in. Triple X begins wearing down Chris Harris as blood is just pouring out of Daniels’ head. Skipper comes in and Harris catapults him into the cage and makes it to his corner to tag James Storm into the match. Daniels is also tagged in as Storm takes out both members of Triple X and they set up for the Death Sentence but Daniels breaks it up.
All four are in the ring as Elix Skipper uses the handcuffs on Harris and lock him up on the turnbuckle as Triple X begins to double team Storm. Harris is also busted open as Daniels taunts him with the handcuff key and uses it to grind in his partners forehead. They then slam Storm face first into the steel cage. Storm is now busted open as they continue to double team him since Harris is locked up in the corner. Triple X hits Storm with a double team move and Skipper goes for the cover but Storm manages to kick out. Triple X goes for another double team move but Storm moves out of the way and Daniels connects with Skipper. Storm them spears Daniels as he loses the key. Storm gives the key to Harris so he can unlock himself from the handcuffs and get back into the match.
Harris powers both Skipper and Daniels around as Storm also joins in. Harris repeatedly rams Daniels’ head into the cage wall before taking him down with a high vertical suplex for a near fall. Skipper finally fights his way back into the match and takes Harris down with a belly-to-belly suplex before hitting Storm with a double team move to pick up another near fall. AMW goes on the offensive once again and nearly picks up the pin fall over Skipper. Triple X again regains control and takes both members of AMW out as they set up for the Death Sentence and somehow Harris kicks out of his own move.
Elix Skipper then climbs to the top of the cage and Storm stops him and takes him down with a powerbomb which gets a “TNA!” chant from the crowd. Storm covers Skipper but he somehow kicks out. Daniels then hits the Angel’s Wings on Storm but he also kicks out. Daniels begins climbing up the cage wall but Harris follows and kicks Daniels down. Skipper then climbs up the cage near Harris and walks across the top and takes Harris down with a sick hurricanrana and they both go crashing down to the mat. The crowd erupts in a “Holy shit!” chant in approval of that high risk move. Mike Tenay says it is the most incredible thing he has ever seen in wrestling as three bodies are laid out in the ring.
Daniels climbs back up to the top of the cage and hits Harris with an elbow drop. Everyone is laid out on the floor and Daniels begins to climb up once again but Storm follows and sets up for a suplex. The other two get up and hit a Tower of Doom with Daniels taking the brunt of the fall. The fans start another “Holy shit!” chant followed by a “This is awesome!” chant. Harris and Skipper get to their feet and start brawling before they both counter each others finishing moves. They both then send each other into the cage wall as Daniels and Storm get to their feet. The crowd starts a “Best match ever!” chant as Storm and Daniels fight on the top rope. Daniels finally knocks Storm down to the mat and Harris gets up knocks Daniels down.
Harris then handcuffs Daniels to the turnbuckle as Storm levels Skipper with a superkick. AMW then hit Skipper with Triple X’s own move, the Powerplex, to pick up the pin fall to win the brutal match. AMW celebrates the hard fought victory in the cage as Triple X must break up after losing the match. A bloody Daniels looks upset as AMW leaves the cage and Mike Tenay tells us that we have witnessed one of the most brutal matches in professional wrestling history and says he hasn’t been more proud of being a part of TNA than he has tonight. The Turning Point pay-per-view then comes to a close.
